How to Invite Others to Your Occudule Family Group

Invite family members to your Occudule Family Group on Premium or Diamond and help them accept from Gmail or Microsoft email to co-manage school schedules.

Family Group lets you invite another parent, guardian, or caregiver to help manage your children's school schedules in Occudule. This guide covers sending an invitation as the family group owner and accepting an invitation as the person you invited.

Before you begin

Family group owners

  • Family Group is available on Premium or Diamond plans. See how to upgrade your Occudule account if you are still on the free plan.
  • You can invite family members who use Gmail or a Microsoft email account (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, or MSN).

Invited family members

  • Use the same email address that received the invitation.
  • Check your inbox and junk or spam folder for a message from Occudule.
  • The Join family link in the email expires after 7 days.

Step 1: Open Family Profile

As the family group owner:

  1. From the home screen, tap Profile.
  2. Select Family Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Family Group section at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Send a family group invitation

  1. Tap Invite family member.
  2. In the pop-up window, enter the family member's email address.
    • The address must be a Gmail or Microsoft account (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, or MSN).
  3. (Optional) Add a relationship label.
  4. Tap Send invitation.

When the invitation sends successfully, you will see a confirmation message. Tap OK.

After sending the invitation, follow up with your family member and remind them to look for the Occudule email in their inbox or junk mail.

Step 3: Open the invitation email

As the invited family member:

  1. Open the invitation email from Occudule.
  2. Tap Join family.
  3. Continue with the steps below based on whether you already have an Occudule account.

Step 4: Join as a new Occudule user

Choose this path if you do not already have an Occudule account.

  1. On the invitation screen, tap Continue.
  2. Create a password for your Occudule account.
    • Your login email is the address that received the invitation.
  3. On the welcome screen, choose one option:
    • Download on the App Store — if you do not have the Occudule app yet.
    • Open Occudule — if the app is already installed.
  4. Sign in to the app.

You are now part of the family group.

Step 5: Join with an existing account (no child profiles)

Choose this path if you already have an Occudule account but have not added any child profiles yet.

Social sign-in (Google, Microsoft, or Apple)

  1. On the You're invited screen, confirm your email address and tap Continue.
  2. Tap Open Occudule on the Sign in with the app screen.
  3. On the Join Family screen, tap Sign in to accept.
  4. Sign in with the same social provider you used when you created your Occudule account.
  5. Return to the Join Family screen and tap Accept invitation.

Email and password sign-in

  1. On the You're invited screen, tap Continue.
  2. On the Sign in to join screen, enter your Occudule password.
  3. Tap Join family.
  4. On the welcome screen, download or open the Occudule app and sign in.

You are now part of the family group.

Step 6: Join with an existing account (with child profiles)

Choose this path if you already have an Occudule account and one or more child profiles.

After you tap Continue on the You're invited screen, you will see How would you like to join with two options:

Option 1: Join on the group owner's plan

Choose this option if the children on your account are the same children already on the group owner's account.

  • All child profiles on your account will be removed.
  • You will join the family group using the group owner's child profiles.
  • Email forwarding (Gmail) or inbox syncing (Microsoft) on your account will be turned off.
  • Your calendar connection will remain linked.

Option 2: Bring child profiles into the family group

Choose this option if you want to keep different children on the shared family account.

  • You can move up to 3 child profiles into the family group.
  • Any additional child profiles (the 4th and above) will be removed after you join.

Which option should I choose?

  • Same children on both accounts? Choose Join on the group owner's plan.
  • Different children you want to keep? Choose Bring child profiles into the family group.

Finish joining

Social sign-in users

  1. Tap Open Occudule, then Sign in to accept.
  2. Sign in with your usual social provider.
  3. Select your join option and confirm the summary message.
  4. Tap Accept invitation.

Email and password users

  1. Select your join option and tap OK on the confirmation message.
  2. On the Sign in to join screen, enter your password.
  3. Tap Join family.
  4. Download or open the Occudule app and sign in.

You are now part of the family group.
